1439. Roberts Tunnel. 1960. Overlooking highway 285 from the east portal. The west portal lies at the base of Dillon Reservoir and the east portal is 1 mile upstream from Grant. The tunnel was completed in 1962 after 16 years of construction. It was named after Harold D. Roberts, attorney and special counsel for the Denver Water Board. It conveys water stored in Dillon Reservoir under the Continental Divide into the North Fork of the South Platte River. Source: Gordon Evig
