Beeler Ranch

1463 - Beeler Ranch. 2003. About 1900 Harry Beeler was convicted of stealing cattle. After being sent to prison at Canon City he became insane and his mother agreed to assume custody of him and take him home to her ranch. In about 1930, Beulah, Harry’s sister, was dying in a hospital in Salida and revealed that her brother was in a cabin in chains. The Park County sheriff found him chained in the cabin and in filthy conditions. He was taken to the State Hospital in Pueblo where he died 12 years later. The main house is shown and the ranch is private property. Source: Jane Gilsinger
